Harry & Meghan has been rated 3 out of 10 on the IMDb website just over 24 hours after it aired on Netflix.
The documentary series, which so far has focused on Prince Harry and his wife Meghan's treatment by the UK tabloid press and how it led to their exit from official royal life, aired on Thursday after months of anticipation and was slammed by critics.
As well as the IMDb rating, Rotten Tomatoes also had the film sitting on an average audience score of 13 percent on Saturday out of 1303 ratings.
The reviews weren't all bad, however. Lester Holloway, the editor of The Voice, said he was moved by the series' initial episodes, calling them a "love story" which talked about the struggles and challenges they have faced as a couple and their battles with the media.
True Royalty TV editor-in-chief Nick Bullen said, however, it was the most "self-serving piece of television" he had seen in quite a while, describing it as more like a reality show than a documentary, after the first three episodes aired on Netflix.
Carol Midgley, from the Times of London, stated she'd want her money back "if I were Netflix".
Despite the abysmal reviews, Harry & Meghan was the second-most watched Netflix TV show in New Zealand as of Saturday morning.
