The award-winning star of The White Lotus, Jennifer Coolidge, says she "might be" soon filming in New Zealand.
The actress, who's won plaudits for her portrayal of Tanya McQuoid in two series of Mike White's drama, exclusively told Newshub there's a possibility she'll be heading down under.
Speaking the morning after she won a Golden Globe for the Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Limited Series/Anthology or Motion Picture, Coolidge said it was still in the early stages - but she was optimistic.
"Well I love New Zealand - and you know, I can't blow it yet.
"I don't know if it's a sure thing, but I have a friend who is making a movie in NZ and he's promised me a part. So I might be seeing you soon."
Coolidge is known for her off-kilter remarks. In one post-Globes interview, she was asked by Access Hollywood what her ultimate dream role would be. Her reply? "I've always wanted to play a dolphin."
Coolidge's acceptance speech at the Golden Globes went viral thanks to a mix of self-deprecating humour and revelations over how her career hadn't gone according to plan.
"I had these giant ideas. And then you get older and, oh, shit's going to happen. Mike White, you have given me hope. You've given me a new beginning. Even if this is the end, because you did kill me off, but even if this is the end, you changed my life in a million different ways. My neighbours are speaking to me and things like that. I was never invited to one party on my hill, and now everyone's inviting me!" she said.
If you're worried about not getting your Coolidge fix after Tanya's fate in season two of The White Lotus, fear not.
Coolidge is about to appear with another Jennifer - Lopez, that is - in the new Prime Video movie Shotgun Wedding. In it, Lopez and Transformers' star Josh Duhamel star as Darcy and Tom, a pair of soon-to-be-weds whose luxury island ceremony is invaded by pirates. Coolidge portrays Tom's mother, and is a scene-stealer.
Shotgun Wedding begins streaming on Friday, January 27.
