Prince Harry has exposed a text conversation between his wife and the Princess of Wales during a bridesmaid fitting which reportedly made Meghan cry.
It comes after the rumour mill began in 2018 that the soon-to-be sister-in-laws had argued over a bridesmaid dress fitting for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding.
It was rumoured that the feud broke out after issues with Princess Charlotte's outfit, and now Prince Harry has leaked excerpts of a passive-aggressive text conversation between the pair in his already-fiery book Spare.
Prince Harry claims the Princess of Wale texted his wife Meghan Markle four days before their wedding, ordering Meghan to change the dresses as they didn't fit well.
The Duke of Sussex said "it wasn't a big shock" the dress didn't fit perfectly because they were French couture sewn from measurements without a fitting.
"Meg didn't reply to Kate straight away. Yes, she had endless wedding-related texts, but mostly she was dealing with the chaos surrounding her father," he wrote.
"So the next morning she texted Kate that our tailor was standing by."
Prince Harry's excerpt of the text conversation shows the Princess of Wales visibly frustrated with how the dress fitted Princess Charlotte.
"Charlotte's dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on a[t] home," the Princess of Wale allegedly wrote.
"Right, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8am. Here. At KP. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?" Markle replied.
But the Princess of Wales wasn't willing.
"No, all the dresses need to be remade," Princess Kate demanded.
"I'm not sure what else to say. If the dress doesn't fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. He's been waiting all day," Markle pleaded.
Tension over text exploded with a one-word reply from the Princess of Wales.
"Fine."
In Spare, Harry wrote he was "horrified" to find his soon-to-be wife "on the floor sobbing" after he'd arrived home not long after the fiery text exchange.
Prince Harry says he told her that he believed "Kate hadn't meant any harm".
The Daily Mail reports the Princess of Wales visited the following day with flowers and a card to apologise, but other sources say it was a gesture to keep it "classy" that would help the Princess "keep the peace".
