It has been revealed that the Duchess of Sussex wrote to King Charles over "unconscious bias" concerns within the Royal Family.
Meghan sent the letter after her and Prince Harry's bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021, a source has told The Telegraph.
The controversial two-hour CBS special saw Meghan reveal she became suicidal during her time as a royal and claim there were racist "concerns" about how dark the colour of her son Archie's skin would be.
The source said King Charles, then the Prince of Wales, wrote to the exiled royals saying he felt "let down" by the pair and expressed his "deep concern" and disappointment they made such high-profile and damaging allegations.
In her response letter, Meghan reportedly identified the royal who she claimed made the racist remarks but acknowledged the remark was "not made with malice".
She wrote to King Charles expressing she never intended to accuse anyone of racism, but spoke of her concerns about "unconscious bias" within the family.
The royal insider suggested that while the exchange was "warm in tone", it had not eased the tension between the two sides.
The revelation comes as news spread that Meghan plans not to be present at the upcoming coronation of King Charles next month and will instead be with their eldest, Archie, who turns four on the same day. Prince Harry will still attend the coronation.
A source confirmed to Page Six that while there was correspondence between Meghan and King Charles two years ago, it has nothing to do with her decision not to attend the coronation.
