Hollywood heavyweight Jason Momoa is the latest A-lister to feature in the Fast and Furious franchise.
He's revelling in the chance to play a villain for a change and admits some of his Hawaiian Kanaka Māoli roots come through too.
It's another film in the Fast and Furious saga, the tenth in fact. But this time starring the one and only Jason Momoa.
Newshub's Māori Affairs Correspondent Te Rina Kowhai asked what he thought of playing Portuguese-Brazilian villain Dante Reyes.
"He's very freshly f***** I will say. He's in love with the world, he feels very open, he's just like obsessed about Dom," he replied.
And if you're obsessed with Momoa you'll be glad his Hawaiian Kanaka Māoli flair came through.
Momoa is known for typically masculine, buff-bod roles. He said this time he's able to channel his feminine side, wearing silk pastel shirts, hair scrunchies and freshly-painted nails.
"I just feel like I guess if it pulls from any of my Polynesian side, I just feel like he's got the aloha, you know what I mean? Just love and at the same time he just has a passion for Dom and wants to hurt him," said Momoa.
In the last 24 hours, Momoa ditched the world premiere in Rome to have his own premiere in Aotearoa last night. But all for a good cause as Momoa has been shooting his upcoming series Chief of War. His mate and New Zealand actor Cliff Curtis said Momoa is bringing it full circle home to the Pacific or to Te Moananui-a-Kiwa.
"It's about making connections for us so the beauty of how Momoa rolls is that we are all connecting Tonga, Samoa, Hawaii, Aotearoa, you know.
"Te Moananui-a-Kiwa te katoa, ngā toto o ngā motu katoa o Te Moananui-a-Kiwa, whakahono mai i a tatou, it's beautiful.
"(The Pacific Ocean, bring all of our bloodlines together, it's beautiful.)"
Hundreds have shown up here for the red-carpet event premiere just to take a good glimpse of Momoa. He said he didn't think it was going to be this big, and that it is awesome.
It won't be the last ride for Momoa, with Fast X potentially set for a trilogy instead of a two-part series.
