Hollywood star Jason Momoa says it's been "nice to play the bad guy" for a bit in the upcoming Fast X movie.
Momoa plays Dante Reyes, the latest villain to haunt Vin Diesel's Dom Toretto in the Fast and Furious series.
The star walked the red carpet at a special event at Hoyts Sylvia Park on Saturday night, where Fast X was shown in an early preview.
He said it was "awesome" to be on the red carpet and was excited to see the movie for the first time.
"I haven't seen anything yet I've only just seen the trailer, so I feel like the world has seen before I have," Momoa said, referring to the premiere in Rome that happened just hours before the Auckland screening.
"Everyone saw it in Rome, all my cast. They are very happy so it's going to be a great night."
Asked what the best thing about working on the film has been - whether it's the motorcycles, the cars, or being amongst some of the best actors - Momoa said: "It's been nice to play a villain, it's been nice to play bad guy for a little bit, and yeah ride motorcycles [too]."
Also at Saturday night's screening were Kiwi stars, including Taika Waititi and actors Temuera Morrison and Cliff Curtis. But has 'Uncle Tem' been feeding him any Māori kai?
"No he hasn't been," Momoa said. "We've had a hangi when we first got here but I need more, we should be doing it every weekend. He's slacking for sure."
