Elon Musk has faced heavy criticism after sharing a private photo he took of Amber Heard while they were in a relationship
The billionaire's new biography Elon Musk includes a photo of the time he asked Heard to cosplay as a video game character for her while they were dating.
Musk, 52, shared the photo to Twitter/X of Heard in a costume, dressed up as Mercy, a character from the popular video game Overwatch.
According to his biography, she commissioned the cosplay outfit after he told her she reminded him of the character Mercy.
However, since being uploaded, the post has caused a lot of controversy online, with several people calling him out for sharing a private photo on "such a public platform".
"You pulled that out like it was on your camera roll this entire time," one user commented.
"This is why you can't keep a girl, Elon," another said.
"I don't think anyone would want a pic of them posted when it's something private," one man said.
"Assuming she gave you permission to post that?" another person questioned, while several others applauded Heard for her "impressive" costume.
"This picture is actually a very good picture of Amber," one woman said. "I'm sure she'd rather people post something like this, instead of her fake frown from when she was in the courtroom, which looks awful."
"Of all the cartoons in Overwatch she's the hottest," another said. "Can't blame him!"
The post comes just days after the mother of three of Musk's children, Clair Boucher, called him out for sharing a photo of her caesarean section with their friends, father and brothers without asking her.
Boucher, 35, made the revelation in the biography, written by US journalist Walter Isaacson.
"He was just clueless about why I'd be upset," she said.
