US singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett has died aged 76, according to a post on his X/Twitter account and website.
The musician was well-known for his top hits including 'Margaritaville', 'Cheeseburger in Paradise', and 'Come Monday'.
He died "peacefully" on Saturday while "surrounded by his family, friends, music, and dogs" according to his X/Twitter account.
The post said "he lived his life like a song till the very last breath [sic]".
Buffett shot to stardom in 1977, after his hit single 'Margaritaville' became popular across the United States.
The song transformed him into a pop culture icon for many - but also made him a multimillionaire.
'Margaritaville' inspired a chain of restaurants, and resorts for the elderly.
Buffett's most recent business foray was launching his own cannabis company in 2019, called Coral Reefer.
It comes after CNN reported in May that Buffett had been hospitalised and had to cancel his upcoming concerts in the US.
"I had to stop in Boston for a check-up but wound up back in the hospital to address some issues that needed immediate attention," he said at the time.
The 76-year-old did not share what he was afflicted with.
Buffett was due to release a new album later this year.
