Once Were Warriors star Temuera Morrison says he shares a special bond with his Aquaman co-star Jason Momoa.
Morrison plays Tom Curry, the father to Momoa's Arthur Curry / Aquaman in the DC superhero franchise.
Speaking on AM ahead of the New Zealand release on Boxing Day of sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Morrison said he was humbled by Momoa's words on set.
"I found out he said [on set] to his children, 'See that guy over there, he's the reason I became an actor," he told AM.
"He's taken care of me, put me in a couple of Netflix films too."
Morrison is also in Auckland ahead of turning the Sky Tower aquamarine blue on Wednesday night in support of the movie's release.
Fans are being encouraged to head down to the Sky Tower for the 8.30pm appearance.
