Patrick Gower has been named the Best Presenter: News and Current Affairs at the New Zealand Television Awards 2023 for his body of work across Newshub.
Gower won the award for his work across Newshub Live at 6pm, Paddy Gower Has Issues, AM, The Project NZ and his documentary series Paddy Gower On…
"This award might have my name on it but it is for all of the people whose important stories I told along the way. It is also for all of the people who worked alongside me to get me here," Gower said.
Warner Bros. Discovery Senior Director of News Sarah Bristow also paid tribute to Gower's work.
"Paddy's had an incredible year and this is wonderful recognition of an astonishing body of work – including a brand new show with a new format – Paddy Gower Has Issues – and leading conversations through his Patrick Gower On… documentaries," Sarah Bristow, Warner Bros. Discovery Senior Director News said.
There was also good news for Gower's co-presenter Karen O'Leary who won the Best Presenter - Entertainment.
"I'm beyond stoked to have received this award and need to give a massive shout out to the amazing, supportive, and talented team of people at PGHI who all work so hard to make my job so fun and rewarding. Also, a massive thank you to my delightful partner Eilish for her never-ending support," O'Leary said.
Meanwhile, Three and ThreeNow's comedy series Double Parked also was awarded a NZTV award for Westside actress Antonia Prebble.
She won the award for Best Actress for her role in the comedy.
