AM hosts have shown their amusement at a photo Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters shared to social media on Tuesday.
Lloyd Burr, Melissa Chan-Green and Nicky Styris shared a laugh together over the "iconic" photo of Peters wearing gold paper glasses while watching the solar eclipse.
It comes after the Foreign Affairs Minister delivered his speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on Tuesday, where he called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
Peters uploaded the photo to X, showing him gazing up towards the bright sky ahead of the full solar eclipse.
"I shouldn't laugh, but it's quite a funny picture," Styris giggled, as she finished reading the news.
"That is an absolute iconic moment in New Zealand politics," Burr responded.
"This is Men In Black," Chan-Green added, much to the amusement of Burr, who erupted into a fit of laughter.
"This is brilliant, wow," he said.
"Has he got gold ones?" Chan-Green exclaimed, referring to his glasses.
"They do look quite blingy don't they," Burr responded, with Chan-Green adding: "They must be handing them out at the UN".
"He's very lucky to be there," Styris admitted.
"It does look like he is lining up to go to one of those 3D movies back in the day," he said. "With one orange lense, and one red lense, or whatever it was."
"He does look like he's something from The Matrix," Chan-Green added.
