Labour's Willie Jackson and National's Erica Stanford joined AM for the final political panel on AM, sharing memories, gifts and laughs.

The MPs talked about the appropriate amount of screen time for kids, before opening up about moments that stood out to them.

As regulars on AM's political panel most weeks, Stanford and Jackson shared their sadness at the show's closure.

"I feel like I've been part of your family for the last two years so I'm going to miss you so much," said Stanford.

She gave AM co-host Melissa Chan-Green some structured literacy books for her kids.

"And I have signed them at the front from the Minister of Education," Stanford quipped.

Co-host Lloyd Burr didn't go without a present either.

Stanford got him an airplane lego set - which Prime Minister Christopher Luxon was apparently meant to sign.

"Turns out, it never got signed, so I have signed it: Christopher Luxon," Stanford laughed.

"That's forgery!" said Chan-Green.

Meanwhile, Labour's Willie Jackson got some chocolates for Chan-Green, Burr, and also for AM newsreader Michael O'Keeffe.

"You've made a huge contribution to the local landscape and we want to thank you for your contribution," he said.

"We're gonna miss you, really. I want to wish all three of you the best."
