Sure, we know it for the sing-alongs, but there's no doubt that the newest Mamma Mia is providing some pretty great fashion inspiration as well.
Going back and forth in time, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again tells the story of how a young Donna formed the Dynamos, met her three suitors and opened a hotel in the idyllic Greek isle of Kalokair. The flashbacks are set in the '70s, which is great seeing as how many looks from the era have inspired runways in 2018.
Costume designer Michele Clapton told The Hollywood Reporter she used the '70s looks of Jane Birkin for the young Donna. "I thought it was such a cool look," she said of the paisley, ruffles and boots.
If you want the look but you're not quite ready to don your own flares and ruffles, there are some ways you can bring the style in with a little more subtlety: Giving your accessories the Mamma Mia treatment.
Gemstone ring, necklace from Pascoes
A big part of 70s fashion is COLOUR. This Peacock Pendant and Diamond Oval Ring bring the big shades we've come to know and love, but are delicate enough to wear every day. Win/win.
No 70s look would be complete without a headscarf - to keep your hair under control in a convertible, or keep the scent of shisha out of it of course... This H&M hair scarf can be bought in a range of colours, but the floral is my personal fave.
Diamond flower pendant from Stewart Dawson
If you are inspired by paisley florals but don't think you can quite rock a whole outfit, luckily you can bring the look with a little less drama with this diamond and flower pendant. The layered petals bring the intricacy of paisley design, without needing to go full shift dress and go-go boots!
Rose gold round sunglasses from Glassons
No '70s look is complete without some giant aviator shades, to keep the sun off when you're in Greece, obvi. These Glassons Rose Gold Round sunglasses are lightly tinted and bringing the vibe. Team with the scarf and some paisley pants. Done.
Citrine and Diamond Halo Studs from Stewart Dawson
My favourite look from '70s accessories is amber jewellery; my mum had heaps of it at home that I used to drape myself in. So I'm drawn to this citrine and diamond range best worn with a deep Mamma Mia inspired island tan to complete the golden look.
And there you have it! All the accessories you need to get your look together, just in time to head along to the movie! Or off to Greece. Up to you.
