Domino's is responding to the growing vegan market by offering vegan cheese pizzas at all 109 of its New Zealand locations from Tuesday.
The addition of plant-based cheese comes after a Facebook survey the company conducted to gauge demand.
Local company Angel Food has partnered with Domino's to supply the vegan cheese, which the pizza chain insists "has the same taste and texture as real dairy cheese".
It'll come with a $2.99 surcharge and will initially be available for a limited time, but will be a permanent addition to the menu if it's a success.
"The popularity of, and demand for, vegan products has increased considerably over the years so it's great we are now able to offer this high quality, non-GMO, plant-based vegan cheese," says Domino's general manager Scott Bush.
"Our pizza sauce and bases are vegan-friendly so the pizzas on our menu can be altered to suit a vegan diet. This is also great news for people with allergies and food sensitivities as it contains no dairy, gluten, soy or nuts."
The Domino's New Zealand menu currently features the Vegan Vegorama, the Vegan Veg Trio and garlic bread in its vegan section.
