Christchurch's new must-see dessert is lighting up peoples' faces.
Glow-in-the-dark gelato is the latest craze being whipped up for the city's Botanic D'lights festival, made by local dessert makers Rollickin' Gelato.
The shop is lit up to reflect the ice cream that shines bright under UV lights.
Yet Rollickn' Gelato owner Jed Joyce won't give away the glowing delicacies secret ingredient.
"It's top secret so I can't tell you. But under UV light we've found a way to reflect the UV so it appears to be glowing."
Certain ingredients naturally lend themselves to shining bright such as pineapple and tonic water, Mr Joyce says.
And people are lining up for the new craze and are pretty surprised to find their food actually glows, he says.
"When they come in they're like 'Oh what's going on?' They're like 'wow'. They are actually blown away that it's actually glowing."
So I tried this treat out just to make sure it wasn't too good to be true and I can tell you it tastes delicious - just how you may imagine each flavour would taste.
The treat is proving to be an extra attraction at the city's light festival that features 40 modernist light works from 27 artists at the Botanic Gardens in Hagley Park.
