A US doctor has been deemed an "asshole" after taking to Reddit to complain about his "lazy" pregnant wife, who he says has fallen behind on housework.
The 32-year-old man claims to work a lot; "currently 55-60 hours a week on average" and earns US$550,000 annually.

His wife, also 32, is finishing her fellowship training and works "maybe 30 hours a week".
In the post the doctor says the couple are "naturally very excited" over expecting their first child and he says he wants to support his wife, but adds she has "suddenly become very different" since getting pregnant.
"She no longer helps out around the home. I have to do all the laundry, cooking, dishwashing, trash, bathroom cleaning because she says she is tired all the time," he says.
He's quick to note that his wife isn't staying at home because she's so tired; "often still out and about either hanging out with her co-fellows and girlfriends or [sitting] at home watching TV".
"I blew up at her yesterday when she didn't go out to pick up some groceries when I asked her to prior to leaving for work. I yelled at her that being pregnant does not automatically make you disabled and unable to do anything," he recounts, adding that he was also upset his wife had "blown $1200 on a ridiculous stroller" without checking with him.
"I feel like I'm the one shouldering 90 pecent of that expense," he finished, asking Reddit users "am I the complete dick here for saying that or what?"
The answer was - almost exclusively - "yes".
One commenter noted it was quite "scary" having to explain "to him, a doctor, that pregnancy is hard on the body".
Another wrote, "You went to medical school. You know what pregnancy can do to a woman and you're calling her lazy. You don't seem supportive at all."
The overwhelming consensus means an 'asshole' tag has been added to the doctor's post.
