A mum from the UK has come up with a foolproof way to potty train her toddler.
Shona McLoughlin posted photos to Facebook of her entire lounge - including the couch - lined with puppy potty training pads. A potty is strategically placed in the middle of the floor.
Another photo reveals the entire area is caged in with toddler fencing, something one commenter referred to as "extreme potty training".
Her post reads: "Am I doing it right? Sat here waiting for her to pee. Do I just keep sitting her on the potty and hope she gets it? I'VE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING".
There has been a mixed reaction to her training methods.
"... think you've got this toilet training all mixed up. [Your daughter] is supposed to wee in the potty, not all over your entire house," a commenter noted.
"This looks like some kind of weird art installation," another said.
The post has been shared 17,000 times, with many parents inspired by the unique methods.
Plunket has some other suggestions for toilet training, including being calm and relaxed, and using trainer pants or underpants when children seem ready to learn to use the toilet.
