A large clown statue has gone missing from outside the Auckland café it called home.
Mount Eden café Circus Circus said the clown was stolen on Thursday night, sometime between 8pm and 11pm.

The clown stood at the entrance to the café, next to the menu board. It has a jolly expression and a saxophone. The café also owns two other statues of lions.
It's offering a reward of $500 for information relating to the clown's return.
Customers of the café are upset at the clown's disappearance, with many commenting on a Facebook post to ask why anyone would steal such a statue.
"Aww nooo that's horrible !! Hope you find it," one person wrote.
"Omg people wth put it back whoever had taken that… what's wrong with you honestly?" another said.
It's reportedly stood outside the café for two decades.
