New Zealand has been hit with blustery cold weather over the last week, signalling the country is heading towards winter.
With the cold always comes the flu, but Dr Cathy Stephenson told The AM Show there are a few things Kiwis can do to reduce their chances of getting sick.
She recommends getting a flu shot and keeping vaccinated for illnesses that can strike any time of year, but especially winter.
Keeping healthy with a nutritious diet filled with anti-oxidants, vitamins, and iron will help in fighting off the winter bugs.
