Food waste is a monstrous environmental issue.
About a third of food produced for human consumption is thrown away.
Eateries and cafes are part of the issue: once it's past its best, they can't sell it.
Enter Foodprint: the new app that lets cafes and restaurants list surplus food at a discount. You can then pick it up on the way home, the eatery still gets a sale, and less gets thrown away.
It's debuted on iPhone and Android this week and eateries are signing up by the hour.
Foodprint Founder Michal Garvey spoke to The AM Show.
