A Kiwi Playboy model's unique method of raising donations for Australian bushfires has been taken to a new level, with her announcement of the global initiative 'Boobs for Bushfires'.
Jaylene Cook racked up international attention this week after selling uncensored photos through social media, with 100 percent of the proceeds being given to relief efforts.
Now she's going a step further by rallying Playmates from all around the world to join her in her new campaign.
"The Australian spirit is strong and resilient but even the strongest need help sometimes," Cook told Newshub.
"Our two countries are rivals in many ways. On the rugby field, the cricket pitch and over who created the pavlova but despite all that, we see each other as siblings."
Cook says the support from the Playboy brand other Playboy Playmates and people from all over the world has "been massive".
So far, with the help of her partner Josh Shaw, she has received more than 200 donations as the idea gains momentum and her fellow Playmates share the idea with their own audiences.
"Seeing everyone pulling together in a time of crisis has been the one shining light in this entire disaster," she said.
In a statement, Playboy Mexico offered support to Cook in her crusade, while acknowledging global warming and the fires as representing "one of the most important alarm signals today".
Cook also managed to convince arms of the lifestyle and entertainment magazine to make generous donations to the Australian Red Cross.
On her pre-established Patreon account, she's also offering a "completely nude uncensored album" for $15.
A $100 donation will get her "entire nude uncensored archive". One hundred percent of January's proceeds to selected charities.
Beneficiaries include the New South Wales (NSW) Rural Fire Service, the Victoria (VIC) Country Fire Authority, the Salvation Army, the Australian Red Cross, Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors, the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital and the NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service.
Cook has been associated with the Playboy brand since 2016 and was named Playmate of the Year in 2018.
The 28-year-old was born in New Zealand but called Australia home for 10 years. She previously drew criticism after an image of her posing naked on the summit of Mt Taranaki circulated.
