An Aussie mum has shared the surprising ingredient she adds to her roast potato recipe, calling it "the best food hack ever".
The woman revealed the secret on her Mums Who Clean Facebook post earlier this week, where it's since gone viral online.
The recipe begins with the standard preparation for roast potatoes: peeling, cutting and placing them in a baking dish.
"Then get French Onion dry soup mix and sprinkle over top of the spuds," the woman explained.
Finally, drizzle the spuds with oil and bake as usual.
"It's the only way I do roast spuds now. It's the bomb - my mum taught me!"
The unlikely addition to the humble spud went down a treat with the members of the facebook group, some of which were already on board with the trick.
"Oh wow, I must try that," wrote a member.
"I second this, it's amazing," another chimed in.
"DELISH!" one person added.
Some commenters suggested variations on the dish, including adding cream and garlic.
