This is one for parents to note with the back-to-school season - if you're looking for a way to cut perfect slices of Edam for those cheese and vegemite sammies, look no further.
A UK mum has revealed her game-changing kitchen hack, using a humble potato peeler.
She shared her knowledge in the Facebook group Extreme Budget DIY & Life Hacks, which has almost 60,000 members.
"Probably my daftest moment ever - however, works an absolute treat. Use a potato peeler to slice your block of cheese," she wrote.
"Perfectly slim slices of cheese in a fraction of the time it takes me to use a knife."
The woman says she simply runs the peeler down the side of the block to get perfectly-sized cheese pieces of an even thickness.
The post has racked up over 500 likes from impressed Facebook users who say they're going to give it a try.
"I do this as well! Couldn't find a knife one day and hey presto!" wrote one person.
"This is genius," another wrote. "How have I never thought of this?"
But others pointed out a couple of issues, including that the peeler wouldn't work on crumblier cheeses, and that many standard graters come with a slicing attachment.
It's also important to note the specific type of peeler she used - if you have one of the longer ones with a blade on the side, this hack may not work for you.
But if you find yourself without a grater or a knife, this might be the way to the ultimate lunchbox.
