In these uncertain times, one unassuming man has become the hero New Zealand needs. It's fair to say the country has gone crazy for Director-General of Health, Dr Ashley Bloomfield.
He's risen to internet fame in recent weeks for his calm and collected demeanour during the daily press briefings as the country battles against the COVID-19 pandemic.
There's a petition for him to be made 'New Zealander of the Year' and the country's collective love for him has even made international headlines.
Now you can have a permanent marker of your personal love for Dr Bloomfield in your own bathroom, thanks to a special hand towel designed by a Kiwi artist.
Wellington artist Kirsten Sutherland has created the hand towel emblazoned with Dr Bloomfield's face and made it available to buy online via St Fabiola.
"Let the soothing image of our man of the moment, Ashley Bloomfield, guide you through safe hand washing and drying practice," the towel's description reads
"Embroidery on 100 percent Egyptian cotton, available in white, bloom or seafoam."
The towel was shared onto the official Wellington NZ Facebook page, where it racked up over 1800 likes and 1000 comments from Ashley fans.
"Keep up the good work Doc. You're doing an amazing job and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts," wrote one woman.
"This is going to be the best looking hand towel in my bathroom. I'm going to frame it!" wrote another commenter
