According to Resene colour consultant Brooke Calvert, strong winter colour contenders this year are rich blues, inky navy, duck egg bluey grey, dusky green, forest tone green and peachy pinky nude tones.
Brooke advises on how to refresh your home with Resene paint without re-creating your whole room. She suggests the picture rail look without the picture rail gives "a fresh new look without committing to all your walls.
As for the exterior, if you want to get away from the classic white or beige - have a look at greeny grey.
"This makes it a bit more different while still retaining the classic look," Brooke says.
