Sony has announced a new range of TV models will be released in countries including New Zealand this year to coincide with the release of its next-generation gaming console.
The PlayStation 5 will launch in the coming months, likely in November, alongside Microsoft's rival Xbox Series X. To enjoy the full functionality of either will require the very latest in television technology.
Sony's upcoming X90H and Z8H ranges are being sold with a 'Ready for PlayStation 5' tagline, with the Japanese company saying they've been created to "make it easier for consumers to select the optimum TV in preparation for [the PS5]".
Both will offer 120fps, 4K HDR full array LED display with "a very low input lag of 7.2ms", according to Sony, while the Z8H models will also offer 8K resolution.
A button on the PS5 DualSense controller will be able to wake both the TV and console simultaneously, while the TV remote will also be able to control the PS5.
While the cheaper models are around what competitors such as Samsung, LG and Panasonic charge for their equivalents, the priciest is the 85 inch KD85Z8H - which will retail for an eye-watering NZ$22,999.95.
The X90H range will be released in New Zealand in September before the Z8H in October.
