Burger lovers will soon have a new restaurant to set their sights on as actor Mark Wahlberg is bringing his famous Wahlburgers chain to New Zealand and Australia.
Wahlburgers is a casual dining burger chain owned by Mark and his brothers Donnie and Chef Paul Wahlberg with menu items like burgers, fries, and shakes.
The restaurant is also the centre of an Emmy-nominated 10 season reality show 'Wahlburgers' which follows the brothers and their journey expanding the business.
The Wahlbergs have entered into a partnership with Australia's largest independent cinema chain United Cinemas with plans to open the restaurants at cinema locations first.
They then plan to roll out 20 stand-alone restaurants in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, and New Zealand. It's unknown when exactly the restaurant will hit our shores.
CEO of United Cinemas Sum Mustaca says the partnership will be a "big hit".
"We had been following the concept for years and with its natural ties to the entertainment industry, bringing Wahlburgers into the experience at United Cinemas just seemed like a perfect fit."
Mark says he is "excited" to be bringing the chain down under.
"We could not be more thrilled to take this brand to Australia and are so looking forward to growing this partnership with the Mustaca family [United Cinemas]."
The Ted and Patriots Day actor is well known for his strict plant-based diet and workout regime.
He told Men's Health in March that he wakes up at 2:30am to work out and eats eight vegan meals a day.
Luckily the Wahlburgers menu caters for Mark; the impossible burger titled as "Mark's choice" consists of a quarter-pound plant-based patty, smoked cheddar, lettuce, caramelized onions, house-made chilli spiced tomatoes, and Paul's signature Wahl sauce.
Wahlburgers currently has 52 locations throughout North America and Europe.
