Two of New Zealand's most beloved food brands have combined to make a product that's going to delight Kiwis with a sweet tooth.
Nelson peanut butter producer Pic's announced on social media on Thursday it's teamed up with Kiwi chocolate brand Whittaker's to create a chocolate-peanut butter blend.
It's the first time Pic's has added a new flavour combination to its line-up as founder and owner Pic Picot has steadfastly resisted adding anything but salt to his peanut butter over the last 13 years.
In contrast, other local peanut butter brands like Nut Brothers and Fix and Fogg have varied flavour combinations including chocolate, chilli, and coffee and maple.
"Peanuts and chocolate have always gone well together and the team has done a marvellous job of turning them into something I know lots of our customers will find irresistible," says Picot.
Pic's Peanut and Chocolate Butter combines crunchy peanuts, sea salt and two flavours of Whittaker's chocolate: Creamy Milk and Dark Ghana 72 percent.
The announcement has already caused a ruckus on social media - Whittaker's' Facebook post has racked up over 3000 comments from excited foodies.
The new peanut and chocolate butter will be available at Pak'nSave and New World stores from Monday, January 25.
