A US bartender has been hailed as a "hero" for his quick thinking after noticing a female patron and her friend getting harassed by a "creepy" guy at his bar.
Twitter user 'Trinity Allie' posted a photo of bartender Max Gutierrez on Twitter, showing the note he passed her across the bar under the guide of handing her a receipt.
"If this guy is bothering you, put your ponytail on your other shoulder, and I will have him removed. He's giving me the creeps," the note read.
The woman said he was "legit the type of bartender everyone needs" in her post and explained in a follow-up tweet she made him pose for the photo "just to show my appreciation".
In a subsequent post, she explained how he eventually got the customer to leave.
"He ended up having to literally yell at the guy he said, 'you need to get [the f**k] away from these girls who clearly are not interested'.
"And the dude said 'that was a little aggressive' and he said 'well you're aggressively hitting on them and you need to leave'."
Thanks to the power of the internet, Gutierrez saw the tweet and replied underneath: "Hey that's me!"
"Fun update, the guy I kicked out Sunday night came back to the bar JUST NOW for a beer, [I] told him I wouldn't serve him," he wrote.
The photo racked up over 200,000 likes on Twitter with commenters quick to praise Gutierrez's actions.
"This guy is amazing. Restores my faith in humans!" one person wrote.
"We need more men like him protecting us," another added.
"Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear Hawaiian shirts," wrote a third.
