Resene colour consultant Brooke Calvert talked to Magic Talk radio host Carly Flynn about some shades that will give a timeless, classic look.
"Classic blue or soft green are both great options if you just want a hint of colour while keeping with that timeless feel," Brooke said.
On the other hand, colours on trend at the moment are "moody blues, greys and browns such as Resene Indian Ink, Resene Armadillo and Resene Dark Web," she added.
When deciding on a colour Brooke says A4 colour samples or testpots are equally good indicators but you should move the sample around the room and view them in different lights.
