The DIY Experts Hamish Dodd and Stan Scott chat with Resene colour consultant Murdo Shaw on how to paint over darker colours.
Murdo says all it takes is 2-3 coats of paint, but advises not to water down the paint, as your goal is to achieve a dramatic colour change.
"Approach the first coat a bit differently from normal painting" he says.
Using the correct roller is also important for achieving optimum coverage. "Don't use microfiber, they're very good at absorbing paint but not particularly good at releasing paint."
