If you're anything like me, you've always had a strong sense of security in your car whilst in the drive-thru as if you're in your own little world.
I've gone through drive-thrus in sweaty gym gear, desperately hungover in pyjamas... the list goes on.
Well as it turns out it's not quite as private as I thought.
A McDonalds worker in New Zealand has revealed some of the secrets of the drive-thru in a new clip that's been making headlines around the world - and is giving a lot of fast-food fans a bit of a fight.
TikTok user @charlton.a filmed the clip in the middle of a shift revealing some "drive through facts".
In the now-deleted clip, he claimed the workers can hear everything that's said in the drive-thru even before the mic turns on, and that the drive-thru window has cameras installed to take a mugshot-style photo of drivers as they approach.
While the image reportedly helps keep the service moving, it makes me fearful of the photos of me in pyjamas ordering a McChicken and large Coke somewhere in the system.
The fast-food outlet also reportedly sells a "recipe book" so addicts can get their Maccas fix at home, but he didn't give a clue about where that can be purchased.
The video had TikTok users panicking about what had been caught on tape.
"Well, I guess they hear us arguing every time about what to get and to hurry up," one person wrote.
"Wait really?! I've said things no one is allowed to know about!" added another.
The AM Show hosts discussed the revelations on Tuesday's show with Amanda Gillies saying she was "alarmed" by the news.
"Often my McDonald's visits are late at night after a night out," she admitted.
"I'd hate to think of the behaviour and conversations that go down then."
That prompted co-host Mark Richardson to delve: "What are you hiding?"
"You know there's a microphone there - what are we told all the time in our business? Treat every mic as live."
We will be going forward!
