Heineken trainers allow wearer to 'walk on beer'

Heineken bosses and self-taught cobbler Dominic Ciambrone, AKA The Shoe Surgeon, have teamed up to create a limited-edition trainer that allows the wearer to walk on beer - yes, literally.

The collaboration was launched to celebrate Heineken's latest brewing innovation, its smooth Heineken Silver.

Handing design autonomy to The Shoe Surgeon, the result is a unique, custom pair of sneakers that allows, for the first time ever, the wearer to walk on their favourite beverage.

From customising sneakers in high school to making shoes for the likes of LeBron James, DJ Khaled and Drake, The Shoe Surgeon is a celebrated sneaker virtuoso who deconstructs and rebuilds shoes into desirable, high-profile drops.

Ciambrone's 'Heinekicks' are the first-ever pair of shoes in which the soles contain beer, offering fans a "unique, smooth sensation" when walking.

The design also includes a secret bottle opener in a hidden pocket.

Explaining the project, The Shoe Surgeon said: "Partnering with Heineken for their new beer was a fun challenge. We both share a passion for innovation and pushing boundaries and created a design to reflect that.

"The shoe not only embodies the energy of Heineken Silver but literally carries it. I can't say I've ever designed a sneaker that contains actual beer before.''
