The "doe eyes" look is currently everywhere on social media; with #doeeyes already amassing 442 million views on TikTok alone, it seems like this beauty trend is here to stay.
But what exactly does the look refer to? Lottie London founder Charlotte Knight explains that the aim of the doe eye is to create a wide, bright-eyed look using neutral shades and soft blending techniques.
The doe eye is almost the opposite of the 'siren eye', a trend that captured the attention of TikTok earlier this year. The siren eye utilises a sharp sweep of dark eyeliner to extend the eye shape and create a sultry, sexy appearance.
"To try 'doe eyes' for yourself, use a liner to round out your eye shape, opening the eye to recreate a look reminiscent of Bambi. You can use a liner of your choice and whether that's a liquid, kohl or eyeshadow - it's all about focusing the product on the outsides of your eye," Knight said.
Charlotte recommends checking out the Lottie London Wing Woman in Brown, an intense felt tip liner for precision application, and the AM to PM Retractable Liner, which has a gel-like finish and is available in black, espresso, and sunburst. Other great options to try out include Glossier's No. 1 Pencil in Frame, a neutral brown, which has a soft formula that doesn't skip, tug or transfer, and Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Bourbon, which applies smoothly and is ideal for blending.
"Pull it all together with a touch of highlighter in the inner corners of the eye before finishing it off with some layers of mascara to make your eyes as wide and open as possible," the expert continued.
And it's important not to forget the eyebrows too.
Fides Baldesberger, brow expert and chief executive of Rubis Tweezers, insisted the 'doe eye' looks best with a natural, fluffy arch.
"This make-up look is super soft, so you don't want to go overboard with plucking your brows - instead, work on enhancing your natural brow shape," she added.
"I would recommend focusing on plucking stray hairs beneath the brow so it doesn't change the natural shape too much. You can also fill in your brows with a brow pencil, and then pluck any hairs that are outside of the brow line to achieve your perfect shape."
