Chocolate lovers across the motu are set to go nutty over Whittaker's new hazelnut chocolate creation Hazella.
The 250g block is made of milk chocolate with a hazelnut gianduja centre.
Whittaker's product development manager Megan Sinclair said the new flavour brings a "touch of indulgence" to Whittaker's core 250g range.
"With the harmonious balance between the delicious gianduja filling and generous Whittaker's classic Creamy Milk chocolate shell, we think Hazella is simply perfection wrapped in perfection," she said.
"Hazella also speaks to what Whittaker's is famous for – good honest chocolate using only the highest quality ingredients."
Stuff reported Countdown had accidentally shared the new Whittaker's creation on its website earlier than it was supposed to.
On the New Zealand subreddit, user u/Jesswhaikawa took a screenshot of the Hazella chocolate on Countdown's website and asked others what they thought of it.
"I'm already a sucker for the peanut butter one… If this is legit, I'm probably going to end up gaining weight!" one user said.
Another user said: "PLEASE NO. I've just started eating healthier."
A third commented: "Oh god. I've dreamed about this."
The new hazelnut creation was taken down from Countdown's website on Tuesday afternoon.
A Countdown spokesperson told Stuff: "It was unfortunately a mistake with the buying team being a little bit too excited about the product."
Hazella will be available in stores throughout the country from Monday, September 26.
