Social media has labelled a woman as selfish after she stole her best friend's thunder by announcing her pregnancy at a bachelorette party.
Katie Jo Germany from the US state of Nebraska was filming a TikTok video during her bachelor party when her friend revealed the shocking news.
"When your best friend tells you she's pregnant at your bachelorette party," she wrote using the app's text-to-speech feature.
The group of friends at the party was filming a video, which has almost 10 million views, where they told social media users where they bought their outfits when the shocking revelation was made.
Mum-to-be Claire Wilson was second-to-last to go and said her outfit was from Zara, her necklace from Kendra Scott and "baby bump from Riley" her partner.
Germany continued with the video until a moment later she caught on to what had just occurred.
"Wait…what?" Germany said while looking shocked.
Wilson replied she was two months pregnant and that was why she wasn't drinking alcohol at the party.
While Germany seemed excited about the news, it didn't go down well on social media.
"Definition of 'how can I make this about me'," one person commented
"Let the bachelorette party be about the bride," another commented.
The bride, however, seemed to have no animosity towards the announcement.
"The best gift. Can't wait to watch you be the best parents," Germany captioned the video.
After the negative attention, Wilson set the story straight.
She commented on the video while it wasn't the ideal time and place to reveal the news, Wilson said she lives out of town and hadn't seen her friend in over a month.
"She knows me too well to lie," Wilson said.
"Yes ma'am best gift EVER!!" Germany replied.
