A woman has admitted spending upwards of $19,000 on invasive surgeries and procedures in a quest to resemble the late pop culture icon, Marilyn Monroe.
Dolly Smith, a 28-year-old entrepreneur from the English city of Bath, has undergone Botox, fillers and breast enhancements over the last decade to emulate the sex symbol, who died at the age of 36 in 1962.
Smith, who founded the streetwear brand DollyMix to cater clothing to self-proclaimed "bimbos", said she idolised Monroe from a young age and had dreamed of modelling herself on the late star, who is widely known for her curvaceous physique, bleached blonde locks and on-screen magnetism.
According to the Daily Mail, Smith began her transformation by bleaching her naturally brunette hair and continues to undergo regular top-ups of Botox and facial fillers to achieve her desired look.
But overhauling her appearance hasn't been smooth-sailing, with Smith claiming she has been shunned by other women and is regularly judged for her choices. She also noticed that men started treating her differently following her procedures, adding she now attracts more "complimentary" advances rather than "predatory".
Her physical alterations were also accompanied by a shift in lifestyle, Smith explained, saying she embodies an "ultra-feminine sexuality" both mentally and physically that she refers to as "bimbofication".
"Bimbofication to me is a lifestyle, fetish and kink that embraces an ultra feminine sexuality that can manifest itself mentally and physically," she said, as per the Daily Mail.
"I have always felt a deep sexual energy inside me and was voted 'most likely to become a porn star' in my end of school year book. I adored my imaginary worlds that I would escape to with my Barbies and looked up to Marilyn Monroe as the ultimate sex symbol."
In her early twenties, Smith said she discovered London's flourishing 'bimbo community' after perusing adult television, which was around the time her first breast augmentation took her from a B cup to an E.
"I discovered the London fetish scene and found my people who accepted me for the bimbo that I am. I adore latex and fetish fashion and have been lucky to model for incredibly talented fetish designers," she said.
Her pursuit of the ultimate 'bimbo' look, modelled on Monroe, continues to be a work in progress. Smith has since undergone a second augmentation, which took her to a 1010cc - among the largest implants available.
Smith said she is hoping to continue enlarging her breasts and lips and has since taken up 'waist training' - using corsets to sculpt the body and create an exaggerated hourglass shape. Meanwhile, her next surgery - a nose job - will be modelled on Barbie, she said.
Earlier this year, a Swedish glamour model made headlines after revealing she'd spent the equivalent of NZ$200,000 in an attempt to achieve the world's biggest bottom.
Natasha Crown, who claimed her sizable derrière had scared off potential suitors, underwent six procedures in order to grow her glutes. During an appearance on the social media show Hooked on the Look, Crown admitted she underwent her first cosmetic surgery - the controversial and sometimes dangerous procedure known as the Brazilian butt lift, or BBL - at just 20-years-old, two years after she realised she wanted a super-sized backside.
