Be it for Chinese New Year or Hari Raya, this sweet treat is no stranger to festive occasions - you're bound to see a batch (or two!) of these honey cornflake cups in many households.
It's no wonder when you can easily whip up a batch with just six ingredients and 20 minutes of your time. Be sure to make more as they will be gone as soon as you serve them.
Ingredients
Makes 60 mini cups
- 200g cornflakes (lightly crushed)
- 40g honey
- 70g unsalted butter
- 25g caster sugar
- 4 tbsp almond flakes (toasted)
- 1 tbsp white sesame seeds (toasted).
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven
- Preheat the oven to 160C.
2. Make the honey mixture
- Melt the butter, sugar and honey in a saucepan until bubbles form and remove from the heat.
3. Coat the cornflakes
- Stir the cornflakes, almond flakes and sesame seeds into the honey mixture.
4. Bake the cups
- Fill the mini cups with evenly coated cornflakes.
- Bake for 10 minutes until golden brown.
5. Chill and serve
- Let cool completely to allow the cornflakes to set and stick together.
