While we've all probably had a fashion faux pas in our time, it's comforting to know even one of the most fashionable women in the world has a 'ragret' or two, with Victoria Beckham revealing the one ensemble that still "haunts" her to this day.
The style icon, who rose to fame as one-fifth of British girl group the Spice Girls, has since made a career as a successful fashion designer, launching her eponymous label in 2008.
But the 48-year-old admits even she hasn't always got it right in the high stakes world of haute couture, revealing that a matching moment with husband David Beckham in the late '90s continues to haunt her 23 years later.
Posh Spice made the revelation during an appearance on the US chat show Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Monday (local time) alongside actor Anne Hatheway, when talk turned to the fashionista's style slip-ups.
Playing a game titled 'So Posh or Oh Gosh?', Beckham and Hatheway were asked to review a series of their past outfits and whether they would still pick the same pieces today.
Although the designer approved of the first ensemble, a couture piece she had worn to the Brit Awards in 1997, she was less than enthused when a photo of her and hubby David in matching get-ups flashed on the screen.
Beckham admitted that the decision to coordinate with David for the Versace Club Gala Party in 1999 - with both rocking matching black, Catwoman-esque leather pantsuits - still gives her nightmares to this day.
Reminiscing, Beckham told Cohen: "I mean, it haunts me. It does haunt me, but I love it.
"It was hot. We were wearing Gucci. It was a Versace dinner, which was inappropriate in itself."
Although the matching leather is clearly still enough to make Posh Spice sweat, she acknowledged she looks back on the memory with fondness.
"We really considered those outfits. I mean, we really thought about it. There was a naivety to it that was just so sweet," she added.
"But it haunts you?" Cohen pressed, to which Beckham swiftly responded: "Because everyone pulls it out the bag, Andy."
Speaking to Vogue Australia, Beckham has previously revealed that her 11-year-old Harper is among her harshest critics, telling the publication that her daughter is often "disgusted" by photos of her mother's "unacceptable" outfits.
"She actually said to me recently, 'Mummy, I've seen some pictures of you when you were in the Spice Girls and your skirts were just unacceptable. They were just too short'," Beckham recalled, adding that David did nothing but egg Harper on.
"[Harper] was actually quite disgusted at how short my skirts were," she continued. "I said, 'Are you never going to wear skirts like that?' She said, 'Absolutely not'. We'll see."
