McDonald’s fans have taken advantage of an inputting error that allowed them to get a 67 percent discount on their food.
On Sunday, Reddit users reported the medium McChicken combo was selling for just $4.50 on UberEats. Its normal price on the app is $13.70.
The discounted meal was listed in a different place to the regular McChicken and users had to scroll through the menu to the "Favourites" section to find it. The Reddit user who alerted others to the deal said the cheaper price had been in place for three days.
"Think they must've made a mistake with pricing but get a cheap dinner while it lasts lol," they posted, alongside a screenshot of the UberEats page showing the bargain burger.
Some people rushed to buy the cheap burger.
"Nice. I got two combos on the way," one Reddit user said.
"Thanks for letting us know, I just ordered 8 of them," another wrote.
McDonald's New Zealand head of communications Simon Kenny confirmed to Newshub there was an error where the McChicken combo price was loaded incorrectly.
"The issue has been resolved and any orders placed while it was available were honoured," he said.
Some users as recently as an hour ago claimed they could still order the meal for $4.50. One said it was still working in Otago, while another said they had just successfully ordered it from Auckland's Queen Street store.
