A woman has shared a video on TikTok of how she keeps safe when travelling in an Uber in case something happens to her.
The TikTok user, who goes by the username @brennalina, shared a video of her pressing her fingers into the inside of the car window and dropping her hair onto the car floor.
"I leave hair and fingerprints in all my Ubers," she said in the video.
The video has been viewed over 27 million times and has over three million likes at the time of publishing.
"Terrifying and clever at the same time," one follower wrote.
"Wow I never even thought about this," said a second.
Several other people commented with advice people can follow if they feel unsafe.
"Remember for DNA the hair needs to include the follicle," one user commented.
Another commented: "If you have a sweater or something on w loose threads you can take some threads and put them in the carpeting."
A third said: "Get in, open the door again always. Act like it didn't close right. Make sure there's no child lock on!"
Some users also commented that would be frustrating for the Uber driver to clean the smudges and the hair from the car.
"As a woman, I understand the stress. But my husband drives Uber to get us some extra money and I hate helping clean the car after people smudge the windows," one user commented.
Another commented: "As a driver that vacuums and wipes down everything after each ride I really hope you are at least tipping creating addition things to clean."
Several other people also recommended taking a picture of the licence plate before getting in the Uber as well.
