Rebel Wilson is launching a new dating app, inspired by her same-sex relationship with clothing designer Ramona Agruma.
The Pitch Perfect star revealed to People on Valentine's Day - February 14 - that the dating app, named Fluid, will cater to people who wish to find "love with no labels."
Wilson's app will be reportedly be free to download on the App Store later this month, but those who are interested can sign up on the website now.
Speaking to People, Wilson said the app will offer a new dating experience for singles of any sexual orientation, with users not required to define their sexuality upon signing up - avoiding the complications that can come with limiting oneself to a single box.
"This is the first dating app where you don't have to actually define yourself or tick a box to say 'I'm straight, I'm gay, I'm bisexual'," the 42-year-old actor said.
"It covers a lot of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum, but I think even if you're straight you could use the app and have an amazing time."
Wilson, who is currently in a relationship with Ramona Agruma, noted the app is "open to everyone" who may be interested in exploring a "wider dating pool," citing her own experiences with her sexuality.
"I think sexuality is so [much more] complex and nuanced than just saying straight or gay. I like the word fluid," Wilson told the outlet. "I still don't know 100 percent what category I would fit in. I'm just in a great same-sex relationship now, and it's awesome.
"I was always a bit of a girls' girl and had deep friendships with women, but this was the first time that it was a romantic connection," she explained, adding she "never thought" she was "100 percent straight."
Fluid's algorithm will intuitively move in the direction of the user's sexuality, picking up data based on which users they are most connected with and how much time they spend exploring certain profiles, Wilson said.
"It's open enough so that if your sexuality moves in a different direction, it will follow because of what you are preferring on the app."
The Australian actor publicly came out in June 2022 when she announced her relationship with Agruma, an entrepreneur and sustainable clothing designer, by sharing a smiling selfie of the pair on her Instagram.
"I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess," she captioned the snap.
Five months later, Wilson announced the birth of her first child, daughter Royce Lillian, via surrogate.
On the Valentine's Day episode of the podcast Life Uncut, Wilson told hosts Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne that while her family has been "amazing" and welcoming of the relationship, Agruma's loved ones have not been "as accepting".
"With her, she's not in the public eye, it's much harder on her. It's so sad to see what happened with her family over it," she told the podcast. "Hopefully, people will change their attitude about things."
