A US woman has gone viral after complaining she can't get a boyfriend because she is "so hot", calling her good looks "a curse".
Hope Schwing, an influencer from Los Angeles, shared a video to TikTok in which she gazed despairingly into the distance. She captioned the clip: "No one talks about how hard it is to be literally so hot that you can't get a bf [boyfriend] because all men are extremely intimidated by and scared of you.
"Being incredibly hot is honestly a curse."
Despite some backlash to the sentiment, many viewers also expressed that they felt the same way.
"It's a blessing and a curse babe," one commented, while another wrote: "Anybody intimidated is probably not worth the bang anyway."
A third added: "Especially if you're a career-driven woman."
Schwing, who has over nine million followers on the platform, later claimed in the comments that the video was satire, but many viewers thought the influencer was just being brutally honest.
"This isn't satire, it's relatable," one commented.
Another said: "The way you said this was satire but it's not, like I literally feel like this is true for me."
A third wrote: "This is definitely my curse. I am glad I am not alone."
