On Sunday night (local time), stars and fans alike painted Tinseltown pink in honour of the world premiere for Greta Gerwig's highly anticipated Barbie, which is set to drop in Aotearoa on July 20.
While Barbie and Ken - Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling - were the main attractions on the suitably pink carpet at LA's Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall, the rest of the star-studded guest list did not come to play, with many bringing their very best in Barbie-themed couture.
Robbie was a vision in a sequined black Schiaparelli ensemble, with her stylist, Andrew Mukamal, revealing the show-stopping gown was an exact replica of the outfit featured on Mattel's 'Solo in the Spotlight' Barbie from 1960 - complete with Lorraine Schwartz jewels that mimicked the glittering layered necklace on the vintage doll.
Robbie and Mukamal have proved to be the perfect partners in pink throughout Barbie's whirlwind press tour, coordinating a series of looks based on the doll's iconic wardrobe. Standouts include a printed Emilio Pucci mini echoing the 'Totally Hair' Barbie from 1992; a hot pink Balmain ensemble with statement silver accessories, a replica of the 'Earring Magic' doll also from 1992; a retro Moschino two-piece based on 'Sparkling Pink' Barbie from 1964; and Versace looks that paid homage to 1985's 'Day to Night' doll.
Gosling, meanwhile, continued the pretty-in-pink aesthetic with a Gucci suit and baby pink shirt, paired with cream oxfords and a custom necklace that featured an 'E' in Barbie's signature font - a sweet tribute to his long-term partner, Eva Mendes.
Other celebs who embraced #Barbiecore with open (plastic) arms included Billie Eilish, Michael Cera, Karol G, and Ava Max, while others paid tribute to the film with retro silhouettes or more subtle sartorial nods.
