Ryan Gosling has been serving some serious Kenergy throughout the whirlwind Barbie press tour, from a baby blue suit with matching Gucci loafers to a tee emblazoned with 'Greta Gerwig', the film's director, in Barbie's signature font. He's just Ken in Barbie's world.
While Barbie and Ken are one of the most iconic couplings of our time, Gosling and his other half, Eva Mendes, are in hot (pink) pursuit - with Gosling making a sweet sartorial nod to his significant other during Barbie's world premiere in Los Angeles on Sunday (local time).
Appearing alongside co-star Margot Robbie on the suitably pink carpet, the 42-year-old rocked a pink Gucci suit with a baby pink shirt unbuttoned at the collar and cream oxfords. Meanwhile, Robbie stunned in a black sequinned Schiaparelli Haute Couture dress, a tribute to the 1960 'Solo in the Spotlight' version of the iconic Mattel doll, according to her stylist, Andrew Mukamal.
While Gosling attended the event solo, he kept Mendes, his partner of almost 12 years, close to his heart - accessorising his look with a perfect pink 'E' pendant in Barbie font on a gold chain.
According to InStyle, Gosling's stylist, Mark Avery, has since confirmed the necklace was indeed a tribute to Mendes, with whom he shares two daughters.
When asked by Entertainment Tonight at the premiere if the suit was a homage to Barbie, Gosling quickly responded: "I just like pink now."
Gosling and Mendes, 49, are famously private about their relationship and family life, with the two rarely making public appearances as a couple. Back in April, she told a fan on Twitter that she wasn't comfortable "exposing the very private life that we value" when asked if she'd be accompanying her beau to the film's premiere.
Late last week, however, Mendes couldn't help but share a tribute of her own to her long-time love, posting a collection of images of the two of them from the 2012 flick, The Place Beyond the Pines - the movie where their on-screen romance translated into real life.
"Mi Hombre. Mi Vida…," Mendes captioned the carousel, which translates to, "My man. My life."
"To say he's the greatest actor I've ever worked with is an understatement," she added.
In another sweet nod to her partner, Mendes last week shared a snippet from Barbie alongside the caption: "It's some combination of MARLON BRANDO meets GENE WILDER meets JOHN BARRYMORE meets JOHN TRAVOLTA," referencing Greta Gerwig's description of Gosling's performance in a recent interview with Rolling Stone.
"One of my favorite things the insanely talented & beautiful GRETA GERWIG says in @rollingstone about Mi Hombre, Mi Vida, Mi Amor [my man, my life, my love]… RG," she continued.
