A chocolate bar popular with children introduced by a worldwide internet sensation has been recalled due to possible peanut contamination.
In a statement on Friday, the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) said importer Zebra International was recalling all batches and dates of its Feastables Mr Beast milk chocolate "due to the possible presence of an undeclared allergen (peanut)".
"The product is sold at Countdown, FreshChoice and SuperValue supermarkets throughout New Zealand," the ministry said.
"This recall does not affect any other Feastables brand products."
MPI said New Zealand Food Safety was informed of two allergic reactions related to the product in Aotearoa.
"People with a peanut allergy should not consume this product."
Anyone who has eaten the chocolate with any health concerns should seek medical advice.
"Customers with a peanut allergy should return the product to their retailer for a full refund," MPI said.
Dubbed "the chocolate Kiwi kids are going crazy for" in a Stuff review earlier this year, the confectionary range was started by YouTube sensation Mr Beast. The chocolate was previously only available in the US before landing in New Zealand earlier this year.
The chocolate reportedly sold out across New Zealand within a month.
