Warning: This article contains spoilers for Love Is Blind season six.
Love Is Blind has officially taken over my algorithm (and my evenings), with one talking point in particular - contestant Chelsea Blackwell comparing herself to Megan Fox - dominating the #ForYouPage.
Yes, Megan Fox as in arguably one of the most beautiful women in the world - that Megan Fox.
The comparison - and the intense reaction to it - quickly went viral, and now, Fox's ex-husband Brian Austin Green has weighed in with his two cents.
For the uninitiated, Love Is Blind is a reality TV show in which contestants date one another, sight unseen, in a bid to form a romantic relationship based purely on their emotional connection. After 10 days of dating in the 'pods', couples who have successfully formed a connection get engaged to move onto the next stage of the experiment - when they finally meet face-to-face.
Once engaged, the couples have 28 days to decide if they want to get married. These four weeks include a honeymoon, moving in together, and meeting friends and family - including other people they may have dated in the pods. If they manage to get through these four weeks, they decide at the altar whether to tie the knot - ultimately determining if love is truly blind.
As you can imagine, the drama is delicious - and season six has been packed with it.
Despite the whole point of the show being that couples get engaged sight unseen, controversial contestant Chelsea decided to drop a teeny tidbit as to her physical appearance while in the pods with future beau, Jimmy Presnell. She revealed that while she personally "doesn't see it", she gets told "all the time" that she resembles Megan Fox.
Jimmy, obviously excited that his romantic prospect is a ringer for one of the sexiest women in the world, eventually decides to propose to Chelsea, despite also having a connection with the Kardashian-esque Jessica, who had played by the pod rules. Was the Megan Fox comparison an influencing factor in his decision? Surely not.
Upon meeting his fiancée face-to-face, Jimmy admitted in a piece-to-camera that while he found Chelsea attractive, she had "definitely lied" about one thing.
"She definitely lied to me about some, uh, how she looked. Chelsea told me she looked like Megan Fox. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. I am very attracted to her. I can work with that."
Brian Austin Green's response
Speaking to TMZ, the actor - who was married to Fox for almost 10 years and is the father of their three children - summed up the whole fiasco as "a pickle".
When asked if he thought people were taking their criticism of Chelsea "too far", Brian replied: "I think it's tough.
"I think the reality is people say that all the time. They say, 'Oh, you know, I run into people all the time and [they] say I look like Owen Wilson', you know.
"She may have gotten that from a lot of people. Who knows? On certain days, when her hair was done a certain way, eye makeup is done a certain way. I mean, you live and learn. That's probably not the best thing to say on a show called Love Is Blind. It seems like you're opening yourself up to criticism," he said.
Last month, Chelsea told Entertainment Tonight she had contacted Fox to apologise after her quote and the backlash to it began going viral on social media.
"I did reach out to her, and I was like, 'I'm so sorry I did this to you'," Chelsea said, noting that Fox had yet to respond.
"I think Megan would be flattered," Green said to TMZ. "I don't think Chelsea needs to reach out and apologise to anyone. You know, she wasn't saying it about herself. She was saying other people have said it. So, again, live and learn."
He was also asked if he personally believed there was a resemblance between the two, to which he diplomatically replied: "Megan is a very one-of-a-kind beauty. It's why a lot of people say she's possibly the most beautiful woman in the world. She has a very incredible look to her. So, that's a tough comparison for anyone to make.
"Keep your head up," he added. "Don't listen to anybody else... This will die soon. I promise, this will die."
As to the public's opinion, some have suggested the contestant does bear a resemblance to Fox earlier in her career - before she had undergone alleged cosmetic enhancements.
