People are outraged at a mother's parenting hack to keep her toddler hydrated throughout the night.
A video shared to TikTok shows the woman attaching a rabbit feeder inside her daughter's cot so she can sip water whenever she wants.
The controversial video has triggered a flood of concerned comments online.
US mum Lisa Flom posted the clip titled 'Things I wish I knew as a first-time mum' this week and it has gained more than 16 million views. In it her toddler sits up in bed and sips from the glass water dispenser fastened to the bed's headboard with a zip tie.
The dispenser is from the brand 'Full Cheeks' which is known for selling products for pet guinea pigs and hamsters.
"She always has water when she needs it," the woman wrote in the caption.
More than 27,000 users have commented and some are not holding back.
One person said Flom is "treating children like hamsters".
"That's for guinea pigs," another person remarked.
Other comments include "OMG, so we are treating children like hamsters," and "Is she a hamster?"
"Or you can just get her a water bottle," one woman commented.
Another asked: "That's a joke, right? Your child is NOT a rabbit!"
Others couldn't help but make jokes like: "When you wanted a hamster but you got a kid."
"My chinchillas never got that big. Is yours mixed with something?" one user asked.
"Where'd you get your guinea pig?" another added.
Others joked the toddler should have more animal products added to her crib.
"Don't forget hay so she's warm at night," one woman said.
"Aww her cage is so nice and well put together, but where is her wheel?" another added.
"Don't forget shredded news paper on the floor, so that she has somewhere to do her business," another commented.
One person suggested the mother hang a snack in the corner, while another said it should only be fed pellets.
Meanwhile, some parents shared their concern for the toddler over the metal straw.
"I would've woken up in the middle of night wanting water and poked my eye out," one man said.
"I'm so scared of that metal straw. If it pokes her anywhere it will be so painful," another said.
While one user questioned: "What happened to sippy cups and drink bottles?"
It's not the first controversial video Flom has shared to her social media platform discussing parenting tips, with some videos reaching more than 50 million views.
