Having not been seen on a major red carpet since 2023, Bella Hadid made sure all eyes were on her during an appearance at Cannes on Monday - a feat she certainly achieved in her boob-baring, pantyhose-pleated creation.
The supermodel, who has taken a hiatus from both the red carpet and catwalk in the past year, recently spoke of her intention to step back from modelling amid a battle with Lyme disease and mental health struggles.
But earlier this week the 27-year-old proved she can still put on a show, rocking up to The Apprentice screening at the Cannes Film Festival in a head-turning Saint Laurent number that left little to the imagination.
As per Vogue, the dress is look seven from the French fashion house's Fall 2024 collection and features 10 denier hosiery cups, a knotted pantyhose bodice, and a skirt with a control top hemline.
Leaning into the Old Hollywood glamour associated with the festival, Hadid and her stylist, Molly Dickson, chose to team the dress with glittering gold earrings, peep-toe ankle strap heels, smokey eyes and soft, side-parted curls tumbling over one shoulder.
Hailed by Vogue as Hadid's boldest look to date, the dress - made from ultra-sheer pantyhose - features a nearly naked bodice with just two pleats to provide some coverage.
The dress is the brainchild of Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello, who told Vogue, "Don't even ask me about production - I can't tell you", when asked about the manufacturing process for the body-baring pieces.
Hadid's last major red carpet appearance was on March 18, 2023 at the Stanton Social Prime opening at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, as per People.
The 27-year-old has a reputation for serving looks at Cannes, including two vintage Versace designs in 2022 and her headline-grabbing Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown in 2021, which featured a rhinestone-studded brass breastplate in the shape of lungs.
Naked dresses also reigned supreme at the Met Gala this year, with several celebrities taking the plunge and baring all in the name of fashion. Among the nearly naked and not-so-afraid were Emily Ratajkowski, FKA Twigs, Greta Lee, Janelle Monáe, Doja Cat and Rita Ora, the latter of whom stepped out with husband (and New Zealand filmmaker) Taika Waititi in sheer shapewear with a beaded tunic to protect her modesty.
