Australian influencer Tammy Hembrow has caused a stir on social media after a leaked invitation to her upcoming nuptials revealed she is asking for monetary gifts - despite her net worth sitting at an estimated AU$50 million.
The fitness mentor and businesswoman, who founded the popular athleisure label Saski Collection, is set to wed fiancé Matt Zukowski this November in Byron Bay, according to the leaked photo of their wedding invitation.
The mum-of-three, 30, and Zukowski got engaged in December 2023 after just three months of dating. Her 28-year-old beau rose to prominence in 2019 as a cast member on the second season of Love Island Australia, during which he and Cartier Surjan were crowned runners-up.
According to the leaked details, the wedding will have a black-tie dress code, a "recovery party" the following day, and much to the surprise of some eagled-eyed sleuths, a "wishing well" - despite Hembrow's reported eight-figure net worth.
A wishing well typically allows newlyweds to collect cards or monetary donations towards a specific goal, whether that be their honeymoon, travel, a down payment on a home, or fundraising for charity. Many couples will have a wishing well for monetary gifts in lieu of a formal registry, and will specify on the invite that donations are preferred over splurging on material items.
Hembrow and Zukowski's invitation states that while their guests' "presence on our day is the greatest gift of all", there will also be a wishing well at the event "for your contribution and well wishes", should guests wish to "gift something".
It's currently unknown what the couple will use the wishing well contributions for.
The invitation also says the wedding ceremony and reception will be "child-free", although "bubs are more than welcome to join us at the recovery party on Sunday".
The child-free rule may be surprising to some of Hembrow's fans, as the 30-year-old is mum to nine-year-old Wolf, seven-year-old Saskia and one-year-old Posey.
"Whilst we love your babies our wedding will be child free," the invite reads. "Babysitting can be arranged upon request."
After the invitation emerged on social media, the influencer watchdog account @influencer.updates.au weighed in on the more controversial elements of the couple's upcoming nuptials.
"My thoughts: No kids surprised me. Surely Tammy's three kids [and] nieces and nephews will be at least at the ceremony," the owner of the account wrote.
"The wishing well surprised me. I didn't know mega rich people would request money.
"The wedding website looks like a bit of a shell at the moment. Maybe it will be more glamorous closer to the date," she added.
Hembrow has been engaged twice before. She was first engaged to Reece Hawkins, the father of her son Wolf and daughter Saskia: the couple were together for four years, but split in June 2018.
The fitness influencer next became engaged to restaurateur and former Ironman Matt Poole in November 2021, with whom she shares one-year-old Posey. They split in December 2022.
Hembrow and Zukowski have yet to comment on reports regarding their wedding or the wishing well.
